Abstract
People have in all times bin fascinated of electricity, in the beginning people watched lightning with amazement and fear. This got the people to create different gods so they could explain the phenomena. Later on when understanding of the phenomenon with electricity was starting to grow did different applications based on electricity start to appear. Around 1870 the first useful electrical engine was invented. Since then there have been many different electrical engines invented and developed to its potentials. But some of these engines did not make it in the competition because they were too difficult and to expensive to produce. People have in all times bin fascinated of electricity, in the beginning people watched lightning with amazement and fear. This got the people to create different gods so they could explain the phenomena. Later on when understanding of the phenomenon with electricity was starting to grow did different applications based on electricity start to appear. Around 1870 the first useful electrical engine was invented. Since then there have been many different electrical engines invented and developed to its potentials. But some of these engines did not make it in the competition because they were too difficult and to expensive to produce. So to invent an electrical machine that hasn’t been invented before is interesting but there is more interest in developing different materials so that good engine constructions which was not possible to produce cheap before now will be interesting to develop and produce in the future.
This M.Sc. thesis describes the design, construction and building of a torusmotor with Rotocast technique. This is an old design of an electrical machine which will be built in a new way. If this works it could be a step forward in developing and producing new sorts of machines where only fantasy sets the limit on what could be made. (Less)
