As a theory Goffman with back region and front region is used. The study showed that most of the interviewed persons don’t have any contact with adults they care about on the internet, at the same time it also showed how important the presence of adults are. It also became clear that there is a difference between how people behave on the internet compare to the real world, the difference between acting together in the real world and being active on a community becomes clear. Even if it is important for young people today to be active on communities, the young people of this study make it clear that it cannot replace being together face to face. There is no way to replace the loss of the nonverbal communication, which makes it difficult, and is the reason for a lot of misunderstandings. But the loss of the nonverbal communication also makes it possible to hide behind the screen. (Less)
