- Abstract
- The aim of this study was to investigate understandings and interpretations of the concept intersectionality through a discourse analysis of six interviewes with teachers at The School of Social Work in Lund. The main conclusion was that through the exclusion of significant superior positions in the discourse and by making only certain groups possessors of intersectionality, the perspective is mainly seen as as tool to explain suborder and discrimination. Along with using the perspective as an explanation of problems which origins is seen as connected to the specific groups, rather than to social structures and discursive process, the conception of certain groups as normal and others as deviant is (re)produced.
