Date:June 2010 Background:There are increasing demands on the municipal health care. In May 2008, it was submitted to the Swedish government a report, under the name of Dignity in elderly care. The goal was to introduce a national set of organizational values. Purpose:The purpose with the thesis is to investigate and gain understanding about how the management group within the communal health caring works to increase the organizations service quality and thereby improve their image. Methodology:We have collected relevant literature. After that we made qualitative interviews with the management in elderly caring in Helsingborg and made some attendance observations. With the help from the theoretical material we analyzed and answered the research question. Conclusion:Organizational values are one way for the management to improve the service quality in health care and strengthen the organization’s image. If these values are implemented and communicated in the right way they can be a powerful instrument that contributes to an improved service culture. The values will motivate the employees and contribute to enhance the service quality and the organization’s image towards the society. (Less)
