(2010) EKHR21 20101Department of Economic History
- Abstract (Swedish)
- This paper examines what the local impact of the research installation ESS might be on the region of Lund and its surroundings. Done by looking at literature concerning agglomeration and clustering, reports on large research installations and interviews with local actors. The impact of the ESS will be much dependent on whether the local actors respond correctly to the opportunities from the installation. Some effects will be due to the trickle down effects, that are relatively easy to measure, other may be in the form of an icon and inspiration for the region and future scientists, which is harder to measure the impact of.
