Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)

Abstract
There are evaluative and content aspects of self-report inventories measuring the five-factor model (FFM).Telemarketers completed a five-factor personality inventory on the Internet containing both evaluative and neutral items. The discrepancy between these items is presumed to be the evaluative factor. The aim of the study was to validate the evaluative factor by investigating its relation to external criteria, such as work performance. Furthermore, the object was to investigate which of the specific dimensions of the Big Five and its facets can predict performance of telemarketers. The result showed a non- significant relationship between the evaluative factor and the criterion for the simple correlation. However, a significant... (More)

However, a significant relation was found in the multiple regression analysis. Extraversion was found to be a decent predictor of performance of telemarketers. Nevertheless, the facets of both extraversion and conscientiousness, was reported to be more consistent. In addition, a link between social desirability measures and performance is confirmed, as well as the relationship between social desirability and the evaluative factor. Further studies are needed to explain the relationship between the evaluative factor and performance more clearly/thoroughly. (Less)
