The reform has been tackled in different ways in different municipalities because they are different from each other and have their own methods of working with each psychiatric institutions. The purpose of this essay was to explore interaction between psychiatry and social psychiatry through a organization theoretical perspective of new institutional analysis, which explains how professionals within the organizations are controlled by the parent institutions. In this case, there are two different organizations (social psychiatry and psychiatry), belonging to different principals who control them differently. But, despite this, the organizations must be able to cooperate. Through interviews and recent research, I was able to identify various factors that are important for the interaction to function. A leadership that can steer their employees to achieve synergy between the organizations, but also leaders who can interact with leaders in other organizations.
