Abstract
This report is a fire safety evaluation of Helsingborg municipal theatre, Sweden. The theatre is a building mainly in 5 floors, but up to 9 floors above the main scene. The purpose with the report is to evaluate the safety to theatres 600 guests during an evacuation in case of fire. Structural damage and economic loss is not taken into account.
Three scenarios that represent critical fires, most likely to occur, were chosen. Every scenario was then calculated with the two-zone model CFAST. Temperature, smoke layer height, and heat radiation were then studied. Also visibility and toxicity were calculated. These parameters were then compared with the evacuation time calculated in the program Simulex.

The conclusion is that a satisfying evacuation can not be carried out in all parts of the theatre before critical conditions occur. Therefore this report also includes suggestions of improvements in the fire safety systems. (Less)
