Abstract
This report is a fire safety evaluation of Hässleholm Kulturhus and focuses on the public safety within the building and not on the damage of the property. The building involves many different activities like dental care, cinemas, theatres, restaurants, the city library and a tourist office. The purpose was to evaluate the public safety in case of a fire and the aim was to find defects in the existing fire protection. In the initial stage risk identification was made to identify the worst case scenarios considering the public safety. To estimate the time to critical conditions, calculations on the hazard of a fire were made in the computer program CFast by using a design fire. The conclusion shows that Hässleholm Kulturhus is safe according to evacuation in case of fire, if the suggested improvements are fulfilled. (Less)
