- Abstract
- The purpose of this report is to evaluate the current fire hazard and evacuation safety in one of Staffanstorps elementary schools, Hagalidskolan. The report is written as a part of the educational program in Fire and Safety Engineering at Lund University. Evacuation and human safety is the main focus and therefore damage that affects structural stability and property damage is not evaluated in this investigation. The elementary was built in 1978 and currently there are approximately 450 students in grades 6-9, and about 60 people in the staff. Because of the sheer size of the building the investigation is limited to the auditorium, the neighboring classrooms and the intermediate corridor that is used for evacuation. These areas were...
