Psykosocial arbetsmiljö: Upplevda skillnader mellan generation X och Y

Syftet med studien var att se om det finns någon skillnad i upplevd psykosocial arbetsmiljö utifrån företagets värdegrunder och mellan de demografiska variablerna generation (generation X födda mellan 1961-1981 och generation Y födda 1982-2002), kön samt befattning. En internetenkät skickades ut till 130 anställda vid IKEA. De anställda var slumpmässigt utvalda från olika bolag inom IKEA belägna i Sverige. Svarsfrekvensen blev 59 procent med en jämn fördelning mellan kön och generation. Enkäten bestod av totalt sju skalor kring psykosocial arbetsmiljö; (Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire. Resultatet av studien visade att det fanns en signifikant skillnad mellan generationerna X och Y vad gäller en aspekt av upplevd psykosocial arbetsmiljö. Inga signifikanta generationsskillnader fanns vad gäller övriga aspekter av upplevd psykosocial arbetsmiljö. Generation X upplevde ett signifikant större inflytande på arbetet än generation Y. En signifikant skillnad visades också för känsla av gemenskap och variabeln kön där kvinnorna upplevde en större gemenskap än männen. För befattning fanns det två signifikanta skillnader: inflytande på arbetet och kvalitet på ledarskap, där de med chefskap uppvisade ett högre medelvärde. (Less)

The purpose of the study was to discover a noticeable relationship between the psychosocial working habitat, seen from the employing company’s values, between sex and function among two variable demographical generations (generation X born between 1961-1981 and generation Y born between 1982-2002). An Internet based survey was sent out to 130 employees at IKEA. The employees had been chosen at random from different parts of the IKEA concern based in Sweden. The purpose of the study was to discover a noticeable relationship between the psychosocial working habitat, seen from the employing company’s values, between sex and function among two variable demographical generations (generation X born between 1961-1981 and generation Y born between 1982-2002). An Internet based survey was sent out to 130 employees at IKEA. The employees had been chosen at random from different parts of the IKEA concern based in Sweden. A total of 59 percent of the surveys where answered with an even distribution between sex and generation. The survey was collected from The Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (Kristen, 2001). The survey is compiled of a total of seven criteria, Influence at work, quality of leadership, social support, feedback at work, social relations, feeling of community and job satisfaction. The result of the study showed that there was a significant disparity between generations X and Y within the aspect of experienced psychosocial working environment. There where no significant generation differences linked to the other aspects of experienced psychosocial working environment. Generation X felt a noteworthy larger influence at work compared to Generation Y. A significant dissimilarity also showed for feeling of community and the variable sex, where the women felt a larger sense of community than men. The variable of function displayed two significant differences: influence at work and quality of leadership, where managers showed a higher mean value. (Less)
