Abstract

Today's housing needs promotes an increased number of housing constructions. This in turn means that it is interesting to find a construction method which provides shorter building time while the final result should be perceived attractive. Prefabricated components in the project offer a shorter building process and when they also are made of concrete it provides the opportunity for durable and sustainable buildings. During the construction of apartment buildings is intermediate floor an important element that affects the project in its entirety. The floor structure has the particular task of stabilizing the building, fulfill the requirements and to achieve load-bearing capacity of the expected span. Different types of floor plates provide different opportunities and constraints and building process is due to multiple factors. Therefore, it is relevant to find a solution that provides several advantages for an efficient process, from an objective investigator's perspective. The floor joists that are included in this study is slack, and prestressed prefab slabs, slack and prestressed massive floor joists as well as HD / F. In addition to the requirements of BBR is the intermediate floor affected by many factors such as flexibility in layout, thickness, installations and so on. But the choice of floor joists is also affected by the client, architect and the designer's will. Then it's up to building contractors and suppliers to work together to achieve a smooth workflow in which the schedule are fulfilled, a good economy is obtained and the number of faults is minimized. This study includes interviews with building contractors and suppliers of precast concrete. The goal has been to investigate the area and how the different building contractors and suppliers look at the choice of an intermediate floor. The results in this report has shown that contractors and suppliers have different views on how much the factors affects the construction and which joist that is most wanted. During this project, it has emerged that there are many nuances in the choice of joists and the factors varies depending on the project. The choice of joists is often done early in the process, already before the building contractor contact the supplier. A floor slab works different in combination with the other construction design and the studied plates offers very different advantages. To achieve an efficient process, it is about combining different plates to use each joist´s greatest opportunities. Whatever the choice will be and when in the process the decision is taken, the fact remains: the need for affordable housing will always remain in the future. (Less)
