Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate creativity in the classroom by studying how creativity fostering teaching behavior and goal orientation (task goal orientation, performance approach orientation and performance avoid orientation) affect the creativity of middle school students. The influence of creativity fostering teaching behavior on students’ goal orientation was also explored. Personality, gender and mother tongue were included as control variables. Creativity fostering teaching behavior, goal orientation and personality were meaured with self-report measurements (Min lärarstil, Hur jag tänker and Hur jag är). Creativity was measured with two different instruments (UUT and TCT-DP). Results showed that creativity fostering... (More)

Creativity was measured with two different instruments (UUT and TCT-DP). Results showed that creativity fostering teaching behavior was a significant predictor of students’ creativity on its own, but not when the the control variables were included. Task goal orientation was a significant negative predictor of creativity. Results also showed that creativity fostering teaching behavior was a significant negative predictor of achievement approach goal orientation. Control variables personality and gender were significant predictors in some models. (Less)
