(2011) GNVK01 20111Department of Gender Studies
- Abstract
- The purpose of this paper is to critically examine the construction of a Swedish national identitty. I have examined what role the idea of “swedishness” plays in the medial contemporary discourse through editorial articles on the allegations of sexual misconduct against Julian Assange. The used theory's focus themes such as the relationship between womens bodies and the nation, the construction of the Other and subjects as decenterd positions. This critical discours analysis hold the thesis that womens bodies are used to verify a national identity based on equality between men and women.
