The relationship with the ill parent is effected and the child needs aren't always met. Also the non ill parent can have a hard time to fulfill the child's needs. Having an ill spouse is also hard and the whole family is affected. Worry, sleep problems, lack of caring and abuse are some things the children have to deal with due to their parents condition. These aren't isolated problems in the child's home. The situation at home also have an influence in how well they manage in school and with friends. (Less)
