Abstract (Swedish)
This master thesis is a part of the European Union funded project KESØ. The goal of the project is to create a knowledge centre in the area of evacuation safety in the region through cooperation between Lund University and the Technical University of Denmark. The aim of this report is to identify how risks with elevators or stairs as means of escape are perceived depending on the floor height and the building function. The survey also affects how using different technical systems can change this perception. This risk perception is shown to influence the choice of escape route, and is therefore relevant to examine further. Among other things this study concludes that the choice between stairs or elevator as evacuation route is dependent on... (More)
This master thesis is a part of the European Union funded project KESØ. Among other things this study concludes that the choice between stairs or elevator as evacuation route is dependent on a number of parameters, with floor height as one of these. The study therefore shows a correlation between floor height and the willingness to use the elevator as a means of escape. Other conclusions are related to how the risk perception, and thus the choice of escape route can be affected through different technical systems. A ranking of different technical systems is made based on the result of the questionnaire. (Less)
