- Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

- Abstract
- Title: Students’ experiences of the psychosocial environment at the music teacher education at Malmö Academy of Music.
The purpose of this study is to investigate how students experience different aspects of the psychosocial working environment at the music teacher education at the Malmö Academy of Music. Through qualitative method, four interviews with students from the later grades have been performed and analyzed. The study is built on Karasek’s and Theorell’s (1990) model for psychological demands and decision latitude. It has been performed on the basis of the parameters demand, control and support, upon which the model is based. The results are accounted for by use of the demand- and control model as analytical tool. They show that... The results are accounted for by use of the demand- and control model as analytical tool. They show that the students generally experience relatively high demands but relatively low control. Their experiences of social support are positive, particularly among students. In the discussion, I raise the question of what this may mean for the student from different angles. (Less)
