Abstract
This study was made to see how resettlement refugees from Iraq who came to Germany in 2009 experienced the reception. The study was made with grown-up, mentally and physically healthy refugees from Iraq, who through UNHCR came to Germany. Through interviews information was gathered and the outcome shows advantages and disadvantages in the reception Germany provided. Overall the result shows that the refugees seemed pleased with the reception they had been given, but it also shows the difficulties of not being able to
communicate in German, not having an own place to live and the loss of identity and the feeling of not being needed. The study also raises new questions like how to improve and develop the reception for resettlement refugees... (More)

The study also raises new questions like how to improve and develop the reception for resettlement refugees who will come to Germany in the future and how they can be integrated in to the society in the best way.
The study is made from a refugee’s point of view and the reader is given the opportunity to get a glimpse of how refugees experience their first encounter with their new country. (Less)
