- Abstract
- A Human Right perspective is continuously present in international discourse of global development and conducts on how we could improve the social and economical conditions of people living below the poverty line. There are two different points of view in the argument about freedom and rights that I found interesting. The first is the standpoint on liberty being a right in terms of protection against interference with the principals that make out what makes an individual free. Although the other point of view would argue that freedom requires more than protection against interference, as freedom needs certain preconditions such as one is not only free on the basis of being able to express their political opinion in public.
