Cykelns plats i samhället - En studie av Lunds ambitioner
(2012) SGEL16 20121Department of Human Geography
- Abstract
- This study explores Lund municipality’s ambitions for increasing the share of cyclists. By outlooks to Copenhagen and the Netherlands we try to put the ambitions from Lund in perspective and explain how they vary from one another and how they can learn from each other. Lund already has a high number of cyclists but the city has problems with taking more cars which may come with the increasing population so the answer is more cyclists. We also compare Lunds ambitions with recommendations from the EU and other national public authorities. This is done by exploring LundaMaTs II, Lund municipality's strategic document for making the transportation system sustainable. Included in LundaMaTs II is the ambition for more cyclists and less motorized... (More)

This is done by exploring LundaMaTs II, Lund municipality's strategic document for making the transportation system sustainable. Included in LundaMaTs II is the ambition for more cyclists and less motorized traffic by bicycle friendly planning. This study also tries to explain the strongest and most common arguments for why the city and its population benefits from an increasing number of cyclists. (Less)
