Dynamic Control of PMSM via Profibus Communication Between NI-CRio and Vacon Frequency Converter
(2012) In CODEN:LUTEDX/TEIE FYSM31 20121Industrial Electrical Engineering and Automation
Department of Physics
- Abstract
- This thesis/project work was initiated to establish a fast, < 10ms communication speed between
‘National’s Instrument Compact RIO’ which is a reconfigurable embedded control and
acquisition system and ‘Vacon’s Frequency Converter’ to have command over an electric
machine in a dynamic fashion. Task also included setting up a test rig, where parallel hybrid
truck platform can be tested. Communication between CRIO and sequential gearbox was also
planned; however due to time limitations, this aspect will be further evaluated in future work.
The largest communication delay observed between LabView and Vacon was 180 ms, which was later reduced to 150 ms in signal
acknowledgement and 130 ms in actual signal implementation.
