Title: The pianistic learning at the Swedish Municipal School of Music and Culture – seeking balance between musical expression and piano technique.
How is it possible to design the learning of piano to piano students at the Swedish municipal school of music and culture? This question is central for this paper with the purpose to study piano pedagogues’ thoughts on requisite components for achieving balance between musical

Title: The pianistic learning at the Swedish Municipal School of Music and Culture – seeking balance between musical expression and piano technique.
How is it possible to design the learning of piano to piano students at the Swedish municipal school of music and culture? This question is central for this paper with the purpose to study piano pedagogues’ thoughts on requisite components for achieving balance between musical
expression and pianistic technique. The study shows piano pedagogues’ elementary notions and strategies for piano students’ total development.
The work was conducted through qualitative analysis established in the hermeneutics theory often associated with the qualitative interview method. Three piano pedagogues with many years of professional experience at municipal schools of music and culture around Scania, participated in the interview enquiry, which is the selected data acquisition for the study. The results show that the three pedagogues act as their students' musical role models and teach by way of their own pedagogical and methodological ideas with emphasis on imitation. Subsequently the results are discussed based on music methodology and educational perspective in addition to the study’s theoretical background. (Less)

Hur kan man utforma det pianistiska lärandet hos pianoelever på kommunala musik- och kulturskolan? Frågan ligger centralt för denna uppsats med syftet att undersöka pianopedagogers syn på nödvändiga enheter för att uppnå balansen mellan musikaliskt uttryck och pianistiskt hantverk. I undersökningen framkommer pianopedagogernas grundtankar och strategier för ett helhetsutvecklande pianospel hos elever. Arbetet har genomförts genom kvalitativ forskning vilken bottnar i den hermeneutiska teorin med anknytning till en kvalitativ intervjumetod.
