- This master’s degree project, carried out within 20 weeks of the spring term 2012 within Lund University’s School of Industrial Design was started with an unconventional topic of sexual health and design which quickly specified itself into Sexual health and Adolescence.
The view point of the research was focused on Finnish society and its youth. Trough professional literature, interviews and discussions and the analysis of sexual health education, services and other information directed at the youth, I identified a variety of issues to construct a concept on.

The view point of the research was focused on Finnish society and its youth. Trough professional literature, interviews and discussions and the analysis of sexual health education, services and other information directed at the youth, I identified a variety of issues to construct a concept on.
Forced back into the beginning of conceptualizing after exploring some exciting but dysfunctional ideas, I redesigned my approach and came to a concept that was rather a strategy than a product. This strategy includes both the adolescents and professionals (of sexual health and education), and means to build bridges through fun, but serious discussions.
To ensure the right atmosphere for the interaction, the concept is run trough at a monitored environment of public schools. The conversation starter is a campaign including a group task for sexual education classes.
Trough analyzing the prospects of different theoretical and practical approaches I present a comic strip model which aims to offer a fun and innocent way for the youth to describe their thoughts about sexuality and relationships.
As a test of my model I present a pilot study of the comic strip assignment with encouraging results. (Less)
