Hur #pratarviomdet? En studie av berättelser från den sexuella gråzonen

- Abstract
- This study is based on texts that concern experiences of sex in the grey zone between bad sex and rape. My aim is to elucidate how shame, age and the positions victim and perpetrator are used to tell stories about unpleasant sexual experiences. I also investigate how the authors renegotiate the conditions for how it is possible to talk about these experiences.
The results show that the social construction of how men and a women should act makes them feel ashamed if they do not fulfil the expectations. The rules regarding how women are expected to act sexually are more strict than for men, which has the effect that women more often feel ashamed. The positions victim and perpetrator have negative qualities connected to them, which makes... The results show that the social construction of how men and a women should act makes them feel ashamed if they do not fulfil the expectations. The rules regarding how women are expected to act sexually are more strict than for men, which has the effect that women more often feel ashamed. The positions victim and perpetrator have negative qualities connected to them, which makes it hard to identify with them. The authors renegotiate the positions victim
and perpetrator when they write stories that do not fulfil the expectations. Many of the authors use age as a way to talk about experiences from their youth as something that happened when they were young and did not understand better, a strategy I criticise for being contraproductive because it is hiding the structural problems mentioned above.
