Abstract
This study investigates how the homeless people are portrayed in the Swedish documentary TV-series Nybyggarna. This is made through a power perspective because power can be found in most human relations. All the eight episodes of the series were analyzed qualitatively through a discourse analysis with focus on the speech. The main results of the study are that the homeless people in the series are constructed as victims in their relation to the host as well as in their relation to drugs. At the same time the roles can also be turned with the host or the drug as the victim in relation to the homeless person.
