- Abstract
- The critical discourse analysis demonstrates that when we say something, we do something as well. By using the critical discourse analysis on the office of the Chancellor of Justice investigation against Roma, this paper shows how the communicative event affects Roma’s social practice in the EU-countries. Roma is a marginalized group with a major impact on the EU-countries, which has lead the EU-countries to take drastic measures, such as bilateral readmission agreements, reinstating visa, prohibit beggary etc., to keep the alien outside its borders. The theoretical perspective provides a view of how the alien the scares states and is a contributing factor to the EU-countries drastic measures to make it easier to deny asylum to Roma. The... The prevailing discoursers does not only affect the Roma negative in the public sphere but also private. Roma are being denied to rent a car, Sweden wants to prohibit beggary to be able to turn down Roma in the boarder that are EU-citizens and entitled to free movement within the EU territory. However, the marginalized Roma group keeps controlling the EU countries more than they are aware of and the EU countries continues to fear the unknown and is constantly trying to reformulate new deportation practices to keep Roma outside the borders.
