- Abstract
- This paper aims to examine how hotels within a geographically confined space, such as Lund, are working with innovation to create competitive advantages in terms of improved results.
We have performed a qualitative study using semi-structured interviews with representatives from hotels in Lund. In our analysis, we used a pattern-matching analysis technique and made comparisons between the different statements in order to draw conclusions from it.
We build our study on the research Grissemann, Plank and Brunner-Sperdin (2012) has done on innovation management in the hotel industry in the Alps, where they have stated their hypotheses that customer orientation is the basis for innovations leading to a positive effect on various results.
