The aspiration of this essay was to search for explanations why children who are victims of sexual abuse don´t tell someone immediately about their horrifying experiences. Commonly, their way of dealing with the trauma is instead silence for many years until they decide to reveal the abuse. I have read four autobiographies written by people who were themselves, when they were children, victims of sexual abuse. Qualitative research method within the tradition of emotionalism and coding was used in the analysis of the biographies. Abstract
