Abstract.

The purpose of this study is to examine the dilemmas that social advisers experience in their work with child welfare enquiries and the circumstances that influence their work. The study is based on five semi-structured interviews with social advisers that work in social services with child welfare enquiries and we were able to identify six specific dilemmas:

-To find oneself in between representing the authorities and being one’s fellow man.

-To achieve a good and fair enquiry under pressure of time.
-To get consent for voluntary measures or having to perform a forced placement.

Abstract.
