The method of this thesis is a simplified version of discourse analysis which focuses of the method part of discourse analysis rather than considering it more as theory as Fairclough would.
The discourse contains a lot of support for the universal aspect of the family support. But it also contains support for a more selective distribution of welfare in a general sense. The family support is something that also is a positive injection for Sweden's economy because it creates higher economic consumption among families with children. What is clear is that the family support discourse in the debates in parliament are mostly connected to a social democratic welfare-regime. (Less)
