Abstract
The current study examined whether 1) there is a positive relationship between a well-developed identity and age, 2) self-compassion and self-esteem are correlated with identity and an identity with positive traits. Participants in the study were divided into two age groups; late adolescence (N=30, Mage=16.7) and young adults (N=30, Mage=22.2). The findings indicated that there is a positive relationship between well-developed identity and age. No significant relationship was found between neither self-compassion, self-esteem and identity, nor between self-compassion, self-esteem and a positive self-concept.
