Den svårstyrda sjukvården - En innehållsanalys av det vetenskapliga språket bidrar med svar

Abstract (Swedish)

Syfte: Huvudsyftet med studien är att redovisa för språkets utveckling avseende vem och vad som har studerats i vetenskapliga artiklar som berör styrning av professionella inom hälso- och sjukvården. Utifrån given teori och utfallet av vem och vad som har undersökts kan luckor i forskningen belysas. Ett delsyfte med studien är att utarbeta en metod för att analysera språket i de vetenskapliga artiklar som ska undersökas.


Metod: En kvantitativ metod för att analysera språket i vetenskapliga artiklar har arbetats fram med utgångspunkt från innehållsanalys. Genom en systematisk sökning i kombination med en sekundärsökning har 30 stycken vetenskapliga artiklar valts ut. Artiklarna har sedan analyserats och bearbetats med utgångspunkt från vem och vad som har varit fokus i forskningen.


Teoretiska perspektiv: Uppsatsen har två teoretiska utgångspunkter. En som redogör för ekonomistyrningens grund och den konflikt som råder mellan de professionella och de administrativa inom hälso- och sjukvården och som försvårar styrningen. Den andra utgångspunkten utgör basen för val av analys och redogör för teori om språkbildning och språkets betydelse.


Empiri: Studieobjektet består av 30 stycken vetenskapliga artiklar publicerade mellan år 1981 och 2013. Samtliga artiklar behandlar styrning av professionella inom hälso- och sjukvården.


Resultat: Resultatet visar att utvecklingen av språket har gått från att fokusera på att tala om behov av styrning till att tala om det sammanhang som styrningen ska verka inom. Läkare är den grupp, bland de professionella yrkeskategorierna i sjukvården, som är vanligast förkommande i språket i den granskade forskningen.

Abstract

Purpose: The main purpose of this study is to present the development of the language regarding whom and what that has been examined in scientific articles on the management of professionals in the healthcare industry. It is possible to identify blind spots in the scientific research based on the presented theories and the results of whom and what that has been examined in scientific articles. An underlying purpose of this study is to develop a method of analysing the language found in the scientific articles included in this study.


Methodology: A quantitative method with basis in content analysis has been developed to analyse the language of scientific articles. Thirty articles has been selected by following a systematic search method supported by a secondary search. Furthermore the articles have been analysed and processed with an emphasis on whom and what that has been examined in them.


Theoretical perspectives: This paper has two main theoretical approaches. The first approach presents the foundation of management control and the raging conflict between the professionals and the administrators, which makes management within the healthcare problematic. The second approach makes up the centerpiece of the motives for doing a content analysis and presents theory regarding the significance and formation of language.


Empirical foundation: The empirical foundation consists of thirty scientific articles published during the period of year 1981 to 2013. All of the articles revolves around management of professionals in healthcare industry.


Conclusions: The results show a development of language from a focus on the need of management to focusing on the context in which management operates. The most frequently occurring professional group in the language of the analysed articles are the physicians.
