- Abstract
- This is a study of the implementation of the ALARP-principle in risk analyses performed as a part of land-use planning. Interviews conducted with active parties in the industry shows that the current guidelines for using the ALARP-principle results in a variation of the methods used to decide whether a risk can be considered reduced to ALARP. Furthermore several respondents are of the opinion that the application of ALARP in risk analyses is not performed correctly. Suggestions for reducing these problems include more detailed regulation and guidelines regarding the use of ALARP in land-use planning, in combination with better data selection in calculations of risk levels.
