- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to investigate experiences from musicians on the mental condition flow and facilitating underlying elements. The informants are all students at Malmö Academy of Music. The study also explores participants who have been practicing meditation and the effects of the practice on their states of flow.
All the data has been collected through two group interviews using the qualitative method focus groups. The results show that the participants have clear memories of earlier flow experiences which can be explained and discussed with assistance of scientific research and theory of flow. - Syftet med studien är att undersöka och lyfta fram hur studenter på musikhögskolan i Malmö beskriver sinnestillståndet flow, samt att klargöra vilka bakomliggande faktorer som påverkar detta tillstånd. Studien undersöker också på vilket sätt en särskild övning i meditation har påverkat informanterna och om deras återgivningar av dess effekter kan kopplas till flow.
All data har samlats in med hjälp av den kvalitativa gruppintervjumetoden fokus- grupper. Resultaten visar bland annat att informanterna har tydliga individuella defini- tioner och erfarenheter av flow som kan förklaras och diskuteras utifrån vetenskaplig teori om sinnestillståndet.
