A simple method to improve indoor climate and reduce energy costs throughout the lifetime of a building is through introduction of insulation. This was demonstrated by the U-value... (More)

The problems that many buildings in Kurdistan have had and still have today are the poor indoor comfort temperature and high energy use; this appears through an analysis carried out on location and interviews with architects, engineers and a questionnaire survey of residents in the city. A simple method to improve indoor climate and reduce energy costs throughout the lifetime of a building is through introduction of insulation. This was demonstrated by the U-value calculations on the different elements of the building with and without insulation. The task also showed that building techniques are in great need to be modernized and streamlined. (Less)
