Brandteknisk riskvärdering Motala sporthall

- Abstract
- This report is a fire safety assessment of the multi-function sports facility Motala sporthall. The building is used for a variety of sports and activities on an everyday basis. On occasion the building is also used for larger events such as sports competitions, dinner parties, nightclub events and for lodging. This poses new challenges to the current fire protection systems of the building and therefore a deterministic evaluation has been performed to investigate occupant safety in case of a fire.

On occasion the building is also used for larger events such as sports competitions, dinner parties, nightclub events and for lodging. This poses new challenges to the current fire protection systems of the building and therefore a deterministic evaluation has been performed to investigate occupant safety in case of a fire.
A risk analysis has been performed to determine the worst credible fire scenarios when taking into account likeliness and consequence. This identifies the buildings karatehall, A-hall and B-hall as locations where an unsafe egress environment is expected. Computer software, calculations as well as qualitative reasoning has been used to quantify available time of egress and time needed for evacuation.
Based on comparison of these results it was possible to conclude that safe egress cannot be guaranteed for all the scenarios. Further analysis has been conducted to propose a number of measures that will improve the buildings fire protection and occupant safety. (Less)
