- Abstract
- Municipalities in Sweden are obeyed by law to implement a risk and vulnarability analysis every fourth year. This thesis examines, through a problematizing geographical perspective, possibilities and problems with integrating GIS as a part of the analysis work. The result shows that possibilities with such an integration includes a clearer and possibly a more profound decision support material. Problems said by the municipalities include organizational problems such as data access and data handling, resources, long-term GIS implementation and GIS knowledge. In addition, the problematizing theoretical perspective highlights thoughts on representation, data quality, GIS analysis, transparency and possible impacts on society brought by the... (More)
