Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine teachers' attitudes to the notification requirement of 14:1 SoL. It also aimed to examine the factors that influence their tendency to report, and what might constitute obstacles to report, according to the teachers themselves. The study is based on qualitative semi-structured interviews with four secondary school teachers in a municipality in Sweden.

In the coding of the material some themes were particularly highlighted. These themes have been compiled in the context of the study and analyzed by theories of communication and collaboration. The result demonstrates that the law is difficult to interpret and to apply. The teachers articulated that it is difficult to know when the situation is bad... (More)

The teachers articulated that it is difficult to know when the situation is bad enough for a notification to be made. In their reasoning, factors such as lack of knowledge and poor interaction were ascribed as key factors. Even the lack of relationships and trust, as well as the continuing contact with parents were raised as factors that inhibit the tendency to report. (Less)
