- Abstract
- The present thesis is a study of Tenga Rinpoches death process and physical death, based on interviews, textual studies and image analysis. Special attention is given to a particular kind of meditation practiced in close connection to physical death and aimed at reaching a state of mind that in the Tibetan tradition is called tukdam. Further attention is given to how students experiences and relates to the the death process and death of their teacher, and how the photographical image of Tenga Rinpoche in tukdam meditation, published on internet, is envisioned as a relic.
