- Abstract
- The purpose with this study was to investigate how the relationship looks between unaccompanied minors and their parents in another country. The emphasis is on how personnel and superintendents, who works at an institutional home-care in Sweden are reasoning and working to encourage the relation between minors and their parents. The investigation is made with a qualitative method, where I have conducted and recorded interviews with personnel and superintendents. - The purpose with this study was to investigate how the relationship looks between unaccompanied minors and their parents in another country. The emphasis is on how personnel and superintendents, who works at an institutional home-care in Sweden are reasoning and working to encourage the relation between minors and their parents. The investigation is made with a qualitative method, where I have conducted and recorded interviews with personnel and superintendents. Six interviews, with six different interviewees were carried out. Half of the interviewees were superintendents and the other half were ordinary personnel. The gained empirical material was analyzed based on the term discretion, where I have focused on the space between the organizational frames and the social workers professional role. The empirical material shows that personnel and superintendents perceives the minors relationship with their parents as predominantly positive. The personnel and superintendents describes that the negative aspects of the relationship are that parents sometimes has expectations, and puts pressure on their children. The gained material also shows that the majority of the respondents are positive to, and wants to encourage the minors contact with their parents. The personnel and superintendents are describing different approaches to reach such a way of working. (Less)
