Abstract
This report evaluates the consequences of fire in a cable shaft at one of SSAB's facilities. Available models of cable fire behavior and the state of knowledge of cable fires in various configurations have been evaluated. Furthermore, an assessment has been made of which areas that is in need of more research. The applicability of the cable fire models to the configurations in the cable shaft have been assessed and the models that are considered to be most consistent with the configurations in the cable shaft have been used in the evaluation. The evaluation includes assessments regarding extent of fire damage, recovery time and evacuation due to a potential fire and is made using simulations in the computer program Fire Dynamics Simulator...
