Abstract
In 2011, the World Health Organization published their Global Health Sector Strategy on HIV/AIDS 2011-2015. The methods of intervention proposed in the Strategy are often drawn up and inspired by western standards, which could result in difficulties when these are being implemented in states that do not have the same opportunities. Through the Strategy, the willingness to do something has escalated to unattainable heights, without the means to realize the targets within the specified time frame. According to James, the Strategy takes the shape of a wish list, an empty rhetoric and a bitter mockery to the needy, as it diminishes and excludes economic, social and cultural factors that effect the enforcing of the Strategy negatively. Abstract (Swedish)
WHO’s Global Health Sector Strategy on HIV/AIDS 2011-2015. WHO’s Global Health Sector Strategy on HIV/AIDS 2011-2015.
