Our study aims to analyze how foster parents manage the reform that takes place for the biological children when a placement of a child occurs. Our focus has been on the biological children living in the same household as the parents. Using a qualitative method with individual semi-structured interviews, we interview seven parents. Research shows that being a foster family has an impacts on the biological children which made us interested in how parents reflects about the effect on the biological children and what kind of strategies they use to handle the reform and its process. We analyzed our empirics by using the Salvador Minuchins theory, named Family System Theory. For example our result showed that foster parents found it important and necessary for the foster child to be included in the family. The parents also reflected about the age of the foster child before agreeing to a placement. Finally, most of the parents found it essential for the biological children to agree to a placement.
