I analyzed at which specific places in Lund women felt insecure, if the women chose to take detours. The thesis also answers which physical aspects of the places that makes the women feel insecure and also how the municipality of Lund have worked and planned the city of Lund with the women’s insecurity in consideration.

The result of the thesis is that women feel insecure when they move around Lund in the evening. The main reason behind feeling insecure were the lack of lightning of the city and that is something that can be solve through urban planning. The other thing that was discovered was the fear of men. That is something that only can be solved through structural changes in society. (Less)
