- Abstract
- This essay is about digital addiction as a relevant mass media discourse in today’s information society. The purpose of the essay is to study this alleged digital addiction to see if it is reasonable, and then analyse how it can affect people’s relationships with technology and each other. The essay also strives to highlight the different opinions depending on generation and the discussion of digital detox, off-the-grid and weaning- apps. In the essay there is one qualitative text- and discourse analysis of eight selected articles from Swedish media and one quantitative survey.
