Abstract
The study looked at a group of young men convicted of violent crimes and had a particular focus on Conduct disorder (CD) as well as differences in background and treatment interventions (therapy or medication) depending on whether the person had early, late or no CD. The aim was to identify how these treatment measures differed between the groups early, late and no CD.
Data to the current study came from the DAABS study (Billstedt & Hofvander, 2013) which participants consisted of 270 young adult men convicted of violent crimes. Variables of interest were upbringing, educational background, work, addiction, general ability and early, late or no CD as well as treatment interventions.

The study was a cohort design and the analysis method is descriptive and group comparison based.
The study demonstrated that there were significant differences between the subgroups regarding family relationship, abuse onset and school performance. The study confirmed that these differences were significantly more common in the group with early-onset CD and predetermined the individual vulnerability affected by the events and circumstances surrounding the relationship with parents and relatives. Early and late CD showed a significantly higher proportion concerning diagnosis and treatment than the group without CD. These differences became even more apparent when comparing no CD and early CD. Popular Abstract (Swedish)

(Less)
