Abstract
The purpose of this report is to evaluate the existing fire protection system at the nightclub Babel in Malmö. The aim is to ensure a safe evacuation of all people in the building in case of fire.
As a result of a risk analysis, three fire scenarios were chosen for further evaluation. The fire was simulated in FDS and time until unacceptable conditions arose was studied. The human evacuation simulation was performed in Pathfinder and compared to the FDS-simulation. In all three cases, the existing fire protection system was not satisfying to safely evacuate all the people.
