Syftet med denna kvalitativa studie var att öka förståelsen för hur medarbetare inom den privata äldrevården upplevde en organisationsförändring. Den huvudaspekt som studerades var i vilken utsträckning medarbetare upplevde att de hade möjlighet att bidra eller vara delaktiga under förändringens gång. Vidare studerades hur de upplevde kommunikationen och informationen under förändringen samt hur de såg på personalrelaterade problem under förändringen. Studien utfördes på ett privat vårdboende i södra Sverige och empirin bestod av semistrukturerade intervjuer med tolv av medarbetarna. Syftet med denna kvalitativa studie var att öka förståelsen för hur medarbetare inom den privata äldrevården upplevde en organisationsförändring. Resultatet visade vikten av delaktighet där de respondenter som var positiva till förändringen även var de respondenter som upplevde att de fick vara delaktiga under förändringens gång. Däremot visade resultatet att de medarbetare som upplevde förändringen svår och mindre lyckad var de som hade velat vara mer delaktiga och involverade under förändringsprocessen. Vidare visade resultatet på att det var viktigt med en engagerad chef eftersom en engagerad chef underlättade förändringsprocessen för medarbetarna. On the contrary, the respondents who were not pleased with the change wished to be more incorporated in the decision making process.
