- Abstract
- The Swedish Sea Rescue Society (SSRS) currently does not have a
convenient and intuitive solution for the at sea communication. Today
there are several helmets and radio devices tried to fulfill their needs but neither of them has succeeded to work well as a system.
Through both primary research (Interviewing coastguards and other
SSRS staff, field trips to rescue stations, trying out existing gear etc.)and secondary research (Market research, studying former works in
the area etc), Form developement, trial and errror and really pushing
our software skills and our design thinking we have worked hard to
develop a tailor made solution together with and for SSRS.
The result is R.C.A.S (Rescue Communication At Sea). This system is
