Some scholars mean that the first type of rhetoric is used to cover processes of gentrification. To fulfil the purpose a discourse analysis is used to look at strategic planning documents from Malmö municipality. I argue that a certain discourse of a planning for social mix is institutionalized in Malmö municipality, which means that the strategies are taken as a “natural” way to achieve a coherent city. I also argue that when the discourse becomes concrete in the urban spaces conflicting discourses proves. (Less)
